How safe is the museum? Safety is a top priority at the Boerenbondsmuseum. Please keep in mind that we are a museum where work is demonstrated in the way it was done around 1900, including tools and machines from that period. We believe that experiencing, feeling, and smelling are essential to understanding old crafts. We therefore choose to keep everything accessible in a responsible way — without unnecessary fences or glass barriers. We kindly ask you to respect our collection and not to touch items where this is indicated. Visiting with children? We count on parents, grandparents, or supervisors to keep an eye on them. During special children’s activities, experienced craftsmen or guides will supervise your children.
What happens to photos taken of me in or around the museum? You may be photographed during activities at the Boerenbondsmuseum. These photos are used only for our own website, printed materials, or press publications. We only take photos of activities, not specifically of individuals. If you do not want your photo to be published, please inform the photographer. Have you taken a nice photo yourself that we may use for promotional purposes, or would you like your wedding photo to appear on our website? Please email it to info@boerenbondsmuseum.nl.
Activities
Is the Boerenbondsmuseum fun for children? Absolutely! Not only the petting zoo, the farmyard, and the schoolyard with old-fashioned toys are popular — there are also regular children’s activities on Sundays, and during school holidays there is something fun to do every day. A visit is also worthwhile for primary schools.
Are events organised? In addition to themed Sundays during the summer season, various (multi-day) events are organised throughout the year. View them in the Agenda.
Can I visit the museum with a larger group? Certainly. The Boerenbondsmuseum is an excellent location for group outings. For groups of more than 10 people, we offer several arrangements. More information can be found under Group Visits.
