The museum is located in and around the birthplace of Father Van den Elsen in Gemert and contains various authentic buildings and faithful replicas, as well as an extensive collection of historical objects and tools. Around the village pump on the atmospheric and characteristic village square, you will find several small craft buildings where traditional crafts are regularly demonstrated. As in any small Brabant village, a small café and village shop are not missing.
Across the museum grounds, you will find several old buildings — sometimes accurate replicas, sometimes original buildings that once stood elsewhere and were rebuilt brick by brick by volunteers of the Boerenbondsmuseum. Among them are a mechanical clog factory, a log sawmill, a hand‑powered dairy factory, a rural schoolhouse, and the NCB Destructor. All buildings are furnished as if time has stood still.
